With four hours, a few power tools and the need for a fantastic looking binder that can weather whatever you throw at it, you too can be the proud owner of a binder like this. Made from an old street sign, this is cool looking and super durable.
I’m not the least bit power-tool savvy so if someone wants to make one for me, I’d gladly accept it and use it with pride!

While my skills with Nordic languages is beyond iffy, I think this is a Swedish blogger who posts often about her beautiful home. This picture is of her work table where she sews. I love the use of low-budget strand board normally used for sub-flooring but here its been stained and polyurethaned to a soft sheen and supported by industrial grade plumber’s piping. Mixed with mismatched vintage chairs and farmhouse lighting, there is an almost steampunk, mad professor quality to the space.

This DIY pencil holder is a great way to bring a little rustic outdoors into your office or workspace. This was created with a piece of found wood, sanded and drilled across the top to hold pencils. Pretty and truly upcycled!

With a sense of whimsy and repurposing, Nancy from Felt + Wire found a secondhand couture sunglasses case and turned it into a travel correspondence kit. It fit her business cards, retractable X-acto knife, a small container of paper clips, glue stick, eraser, mini stapler and postage stamps. Genius!
I see these big glasses cases at TJMaxx all the time for less than $10. I think I’ll have to pick one up before my next travel adventure.

Morning Pages

Start as you mean to go on

Lots of people have attempted to do Julia Margaret Cameron’s The Artist’s Way morning pages at some point in time. If you’re not familiar with the concept, the idea is that by writing three pages every morning, you can clear the mental clutter and get down to the core of your “real work” whether that is a new business venture, writing a book or getting the laundry done. 750 Words attempts to create a private, online option for doing your morning pages, or by their best guess, 750 words. If you type faster than you write, this may be a good option.

Either on paper or digitally, if you’ve been wanting to write more or mentally clean house, try writing three pages every morning or sign up on 750 Words for a week and see if it helps.
